About Spike Ministries

SHARING THE POWER OF ORGANIZED PRAYER WITH THE WORLD

Rosary Makers and Spike Ministries volunteers gather to make rosaries to ship abroad to Catholic communities worldwide
our mission is to make and ship rosaries to Catholic communities around the world

Founded in 2014, Spike Ministries has a simple mission: Make and ship rosaries to Catholic communities in need around the world to share the power of organized prayer. We purchase the raw materials and share them with rosary making groups in parishes across the United States who assemble them. Then, we ship the assembled rosaries to communities across the United States and around the world. We have sent more than 225,000 rosaries to people in need worldwide.

Our Founders

Michael A. Miller

Founder

Mike was a member of a rosary making group for two years before they lost their contact for distributing rosaries. Mike reached out to Bishop Kevin Kenny of St Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis, who introduced Mike to some missionaries visiting the US from Kitui, Kenya. After meeting them, Mike sent them home with 2,800 rosaries. The rest is history!

Charlie Burns

Charlie started the Immaculate Conception Chapter of Spike Ministries in 2014, making 5 rosaries per week. He had started making rosaries on his own two years beforehand. Today, his group has made more than 225,000 rosaries that are distributed across the world.

Mike Maki

Mike and Lynn got started making rosaries after Mike Miller came to Nativity of Mary in Bloomington, Minnesota. After he told the group how rosaries were needed, he gave us a kit. Once we learned the basic knot, we decided to commit to each make 10 rosaries a day. Our first goal was 1,000. That was soon met so we set the next goal at 5,000, then 10,000. We are now at 14,500. We haven’t set another goal as now it will be as many as we can make. We keep thinking of all the prayers being said. Making rosaries is now part of our daily routine.

Our History

Our rosary makers have made and delivered more than 225,000 rosaries to missions across the globe, including in countries such as Uganda, Cameroon, Guatemala, and Vietnam. We have delivered rosaries to local Minnesota events such as the Madre Peregrina Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Vatican Display at the Mall of America, and the Beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.

Our mission is twofold.

1. To assemble and deliver rosaries to countries in need across the globe

and

2. To reintroduce the rosary to the youth to continue the practice of praying the rosary, as it has a long history in the Catholic Church, allowing people to support one another in prayer and connect emotionally with the lives of Jesus and Mary.
